MoreWe get seated and nobody shows up for 10 to 15 min. This has happened both times we have been there. Once they finally show up we are ready to order, forget about the appetizers. We order our dinner, wait, wait and it comes out cold. My steak was bland and for the price, not at all worth it. Slow to no service, food mediocre and overpriced for what you get. We tried to give them another chance, but we won’t be back. Too bad, it could be a great place if they were being led the right direction.

Very good Turkey Burger with Truffle fries
This is one of the few restaurants in the area to serve a gyro. In their defense it is only on their lunch menu. That said, it was the worst gyro I’ve ever had. The meat is under seasoned and cut too thin. The tzatziki sauce flavor was rather disgusting because it had a sweet flavor. All this for$11 which also makes it the more expensive gyro in the area.After this experience I do not see myself coming back which is disappointing because it is the closest restaurant to my house.Great iced tea though!

Went to dinner in a group of six on a Monday night 12/23. Three of us ordered the nightly special prime rib dinner. Their old steaks, lack of safety and food standards caused food poisoning in all three of us who ordered the special. We were throwing up all day and night during Christmas time. Avoid this place at ALL COSTS!!! They do not care about cleanliness or food safety. For the three who did not get sick the dishes were a complete joke, dry fish, microwaves potatoes. They sat us right next to a fire which was so hot there was a point in the dinner where we had to step outside the restaurant. The only thing I enjoyed was the happy hour beer prices. Go elsewhere, plenty of better options in Des Moines and West Des Moines for the price.

MoreSo I want to start by saying that my first visit to this restaurant was great. Great food, service, drinks, great place overall. So my husband and I returned recently to celebrate. Our waitress was a bit absent, slow, and aloof, we saw more of our neighbors waitress than our own. When served our salad, we found mold on the onions, alerted a different waitress and got replacements without explanation or apology. Our food was decent and so were drinks. Unfortunately the women's bathroom appeared clean but smelled like stale urine. Overall, I'm giving 3 stars due to low service quality, moldy salads, and a smelly bathroom. We were disappointed because we really enjoyed our first visit. I don't think we will be back.

Had a very disappointing experience the other night. Walleye states that there would be sauce (my error in assuming it would contained in a side dish).The walleye was laying in a bed of red sauce n the top was heavily drizzled with a aioli thick sauce. The fish was very wet. I didn't eat it. When I shared with the waitress, she was very indifferent. When we left, the manager asked how was our meal. I hesitated but did share my $27 wet walleye meal. His comment was, you should have told me sooner. I was telling him minutes after we paid the full bill. He told me to call the next day and ask for Meghan. Unbelievable customer service. No need to call Meghan, we won't be back!

Nice warm atmosphere, wonderful food and friendly staff.
The food was just okay relative to the price. A pasta dish starts at around $17 and their steaks go as high as $40 or so. For the price of the veggie pasta, there was little thought put into how the vegetables were treated. Roasting the vegetables instead of steaming would have provided a lot more flavor. Additionally, the steak came out a more cooked than ordered. However, I must add that the servers are very polite and friendly. A definite upside here. The outdoor table that we sat at could have used a wiping before we sat down.

Wonton Nachos, fried cheese, and crab cakes. We waited, and waited, and waited..... When our appetizers came, it was apparent they sat in the window for a very long time. Our server warned us the plates were all extremely hot, the nachos looked dead, in fact, they were so overdone, that when I picked one chip up, the entire plate of nachos wanted to come with it. They were like 'glued' together. The fried cheese were burnt, the red sauce that was on the plate was burnt red and dark, the crab cakes were so thin, it was like eating a crab pancake. I was so disappointed. I thought about complaining to our server, but it was obvious she was having a bad night. I will not be back.

Great atmosphere and food
Great food, great service. They smile, talk when you want to and leave you alone when that is preferred. But best of all is that the food was phenomenal without being over the top flashy or attention getting. Worth a visit!
MoreGreat food and atmosphere here. They were short staffed tonight but the food more than made up for it. I had the Filet Mignon and my guests loved the Halibut. Both were scrumptious. We got to meet the owner too who was a delight. I'll definitely be returning here.
MoreRomantic little restaurant. My husband and I went for lunch on a day date. Wasn't overly crowded on a Monday. Service was very friendly and on top of things. Food was delicious and not overly expensive for the atmosphere. We would definitely go there again!

My family recently held our son and daughter-in-law’s rehearsal dinner at FireCreek and it was wonderful! We received friendly great service and the food was fabulous! We received many wonderful compliments during the evening.We would definitely recommend FireCreek for any special event or occasion!! A 5 star restaurant!!
